As the summer drifts towards 4th of July, and lazy days lead to lazy nights, we need to have a great option for those nights that are cool and crisp. To grab an oversized college sweatshirt seems mundane and ordinary.  Instead, consider a lightweight summer sweater. A summer sweater needs to be versatile as it must look great with jeans, shorts, or a skirt. This spring and summer, we have been besieged with bright color.  But when it comes to a purchasing a summer sweater, we recommend putting it into neutral.

It is difficult to imagine that you will need a summer sweater when the temps continue to hit 90 degrees or higher. But hard as it to imagine, there will be cool nights or mornings on boats that require lightweight layering piece.

Design Detroit found Real Style model, Dana, looking very comfortable and stylish in her summer sweaters.  Feeling very much at home on a boat at the Detroit Yacht Club, Dana shows us how great the look is when neutral sweaters are paired with a white jean.  Of course, the backdrop of a beautiful boat and a beautiful Detroit day allows us to imagine how sophisticated we would look in a summer scenario.

Enjoy the sumer and all its offerings. As you shop the end of season sales (and yes, we will see fall clothes within the next 2 weeks hit the stores) don’t breeze over the summer sweater. Grab one or two for those summer nights that require a bit of warmth.
